GREAT PROMISES
"See, my daughter, My Heart surrounded with thorns with which ingrates pierce me at every moment with blasphemies and ingratitude. You, at least, make sure to console me and announce that all those who for five months, on the first Saturdays, go to confession, receive Communion, say five decades of the Rosary and keep me company for 15 minutes meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, with the purpose of making reparation to Me, I promise to assist them at the hour of death with all the graces necessary for the salvation of their souls."
— Our Lady, December 10, 1925
My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.”
—Our Lady, June 13, 1917.
How to Do the Five First Saturdays Devotion
The First Saturday Devotion involves five practices that are done on the first Saturday of five consecutive months. The intention here is to make reparation to her Immaculate Heart. The practices are:
Go to confession within 8 days before or after the first Saturday, as long as you are in a state of grace.
Receive Holy Communion on the first Saturday of each month.
Keep Mary company for 15 minutes while meditating on one or more mysteries of the Rosary. This is in addition to praying the Rosary.
for the blasphemies and offenses against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
A Nationwide Tour of Parishes to Promote the Five First Saturdays
The World Apostolate of Fatima of the Philippines (WAF) continues its tour of parishes across the country for the First Saturday devotion.
It is called The Pontevedra Visit 2025 and features the pilgrim image of Our Lady of Pontevedra. Our Lady had appeared at Pontevedra, Spain, in December 10, 1925 to Sister Lucia, the Fatima visionary, to formally ask for the devotion.
The faithful honor the image with a motorcade. Then WAF speakers at the parishes talk on the importance of the devotion and the messages given by Our Lady.
She asks the faithful to do the following on five consecutive first Saturdays of the month: confession, Holy Communion, the recitation of the Holy Rosary, and 15 minutes of meditation on its mysteries. These are all done in reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The Blessed Virgin gives a great promise for those who complete the Five First Saturdays:
“I promise to assist them at the hour of death with all the graces necessary for the salvation of their souls."
